Hon’ble Justice Mahendra Dayal
Justice Mahendra Dayal is a retired judge from the Allahabad High Court. Born on October 27, 1956, he completed his law degree from Allahabad University in 1978 and began practicing as an advocate on January 4, 1980, focusing primarily on civil and criminal law. In 1996, he joined the Higher Judicial Service and was promoted to District & Sessions Judge in 2007. He was elevated as an Additional Judge on April 17, 2012, and became a Permanent Judge on September 5, 2013. Justice Dayal retired from the bench on October 26, 2018. During his judicial career, Justice Dayal briefly served as the District and Sessions Judge in Sultanpur from April 10, 2008, to May 8, 2008.
Post-retirement, he has been active in legal education and professional associations. Additionally, Justice Dayal serves as the Secretary General of the Association of Retired Judges of Supreme Court & High Courts of India.
Hon’ble Dr. Justice D.K. Arora
Justice D.K. Arora is a distinguished jurist with an extensive career in law and the judiciary. Born on June 20, 1957, he graduated in law from Lucknow University in 1982 and further obtained a post-graduate diploma in Labour Law from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, in 1984. He completed his LL.M. from Lucknow University in 1985, earning the ‘Pandit Jagmohan Nath Chak Memorial Gold Medal’ for achieving the highest marks in Constitutional Law. In 2013, he was awarded a Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) degree by Lucknow University, along with the Jagdish Prasad Legal Research Gold Medal.
Justice Arora commenced his legal practice in 1983, focusing on service, constitutional, educational, contract, and land acquisition matters at the Allahabad High Court and the Supreme Court of India. He held significant positions, such as Additional Advocate General of Uttar Pradesh and served as Standing Counsel for various universities and government bodies. Elevated as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court on April 13, 2009, he became a permanent judge on December 24, 2010, and served until his retirement on June 19, 2019.
Post-retirement, Justice Arora was appointed as the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). He has also contributed to legal literature, authoring works such as “A Compendium of Criminal Procedure,” which discusses the general principles of criminal procedure and includes analyses of leading decisions by the Supreme Court and various High Courts.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Anil Kumar
Justice Anil Kumar is associated with several distinguished judges who have served at the Allahabad High Court.
Justice Anil Kumar was born on August 9, 1958. He graduated in Law from Lucknow University in 1983 and enrolled as an Advocate on March 23, 1983. He practiced in Civil and Service matters at the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court. Elevated as an Additional Judge on April 13, 2009, he became a permanent Judge on December 24, 2010, and served until August 8, 2020.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rakesh Srivastava
Justice Rakesh Srivastava served as a judge at the Allahabad High Court. He completed his Bachelor of Science in 1980 and Bachelor of Laws in 1983 from Lucknow University. He enrolled as an advocate on April 27, 1984, and practiced primarily in civil, constitutional, service, educational, and labor laws at the High Courts of Lucknow and Allahabad, as well as the Supreme Court of India. Throughout his career, he represented various organizations, including the Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Board (UPSEB), Railways, NTPC, SAIL, AICTE, and several educational institutions. In addition to his legal practice, he also taught law at Lucknow University.
Justice Srivastava was elevated to the bench as an Additional Judge on April 12, 2013, and became a Permanent Judge on August 2, 2014. He served at the Allahabad High Court until his retirement on September 28, 2022.
